im feeling down. i dont know why, i have ideas about stuff to shoot but i dont really know how to go about doing it. either that or i dont have models or the locations sorted and that kinda thing. feeling frustrated as i feel like the ideas floating round but i just dont know what the next step is. its annoying me.
sleep on it then wake up feeling productive i think. no smoking tomorrow either....

a recently found flickr friend, think i found his stuff on the vice pool or something but yeah i really like his stuff.
he has a lot of cat photography, i like that, got a thing about photographing animals. im kinda in the middle of doing a series on dog shots, also after the NY dead rat and fish heads and stuff, i kinda have this urge to take photos of road kill and stuff. bit morbid but...
I Took Photos
okay so even thought the CR2 thing pissed me off, the ones i shot in jpeg turned out really nice, especially the one of lucy, turned out really well, colours are ace. had to play about with the white balance to get that right.
also the virgin mary one was the first time i used my zoom lense, small success i think
the photos are all taken at the bear pit on cardigan road. was a...

Fuck
i went out yesterday and got a load of snaps with sam mitch and lucy, i decided i wanted to play around with using the histogram on photoshop and stuff so set my camera up to take RAW CR2 images. which it did. they looked ace.
so upon uploading them to my computer, i open photoshop and the fucking thing isnt compatible with CR2’s which is annoying because i have used sams DSLR which is the...
Shit im Diggin: Jase Hamilton
Really like his stuff, seems like another film enthusiasts like myself although he also has some nice studio shots, like the one at the top here. really like the lighting, apparently we have a course on lighting in the studio next week, well happy about that might try and go in before though and have a snoop around, like to know a bit about what im doing for that sort of thing.
dark room...
John Angerson
had a lecture with this dude today in uni. really enjoyed it. he seemed to have a really good idea of what he wants and what he doesnt want in photography and it did inspire me.
he put a huge emphasis on how although it is his proffesion, his core values about photography were actually that he enjoyed it. this was something you could really see from his passion for his work and the way he spoke...
I Took Photos
did some more portrait shots with Mitch last night, played around with the lighting abit more this time, at the bottom i put up some of the tests, first one (from top left) was the flash on my Canon eos XSi, top right was light in the room, bottom left was with my Vivitar flash gun, directed straight at him, and then the last one was the flash pointed at the celling before tweaking on photoshop

Holy shit
i dont know who took this photo but it was on the BBC website. its a pretty amazing snap, must have had some balls to instead of shitting yourself and running to think. hmmm im gonna get my camera out
although its an amazing photo i sort of feel bad loving it because that is some nasty bomb just dropping on some poor people. think the Israelis should stop being arseholes and leave gaza alone.
Darkplace
not the Garth Marenghi variety but equally as cool. i went down to the dark room at Rossington street today with James (which i am A; super excited about and B; well thankful to James for teaching me everything) so yeah it was ace,
i learnt how to develop and fix a film then stuff about printing too. how to use the equipment used to get the film out of the canister, which is well hard as it is...
Brief Explained
so we had a re-briefing today about what this commtech shizz is all about and basically its about questions, its about finding the answers to the questions you ask yourself about where you want to be in the future in your practice.
like i mentioned in december i feel kinda great about this as basically, ive been given the chance to get marked or as i would call it, a kick up the arse to learn...
Shit im Diggin: Li Wei
Dont really have much to say about this guy apart from what i mentioned before, i like that he uses himself in all the photos, its pretty funny, the photos are amazing, look like a lot of fun.
wires, heights, superman shit, would be sick
Shit im Diggin: Jean Yves Leemoigne
Fuck me. his stuff is amazing, rob showed me him the other day, his stuff is amazing, the colours look sick, i wonder if its heavy on the post production? i had to crop the photos a little as his site is flash and the gallery thing kept popping up when i did a screen grab but yeah they still look amazing
again i really like the narrative, kinda like the below post and like Li Wei’s work...
Shit im Diggin: David Clerihew
bit of a blast from the past, as the middle photo of his is a photo of me! his name came up in conversation recently so i had a look at his site and check out some of his more recent portfolio,
he’s a genius, the photos are all beautifully composed and shot on amazing equipment, really like his use of colour, looks sick, i also like how he puts a shit load of narrative into his work, if...
Broke
i have 6 pounds left on my overdraft. its gash. you know what the worst thing is? i realised i had a film left in my olympus from america and i wanted to get it developed. i don’t have enough money though. don’t need food or anything just film. haha
balls.
Shit im Diggin: Junku-Newcleus
im not usualy such a fan of black and white photography but to be fair these are really nice. the shots remind me of that film “2046”
anyways i think i also like them because there are dogs in the photos and ive got abit of an obsession about taking photos of dogs…
